IV drip therapy has been used in medical facilities for decades, but it’s only recently made its way into health and wellness circles. You’ve probably read about IV therapy or heard about it from your friends, but you may not know what it is or what to expect if you schedule an appointment. You’ve come to the right place, because in today’s post, we’ll provide you with the information you need to know for your first IV therapy appointment. When you’ve finished reading, get in touch with Intravenous Solutions to schedule an appointment!
What Is IV Therapy?
We’ll start by providing you with a basic overview. If you’ve ever had surgery or a minor medical procedure, then you’ve probably had an IV bag inserted into one of your veins. The infusion probably included electrolytes, medication, and anything else you needed during the procedure. IV therapy is very similar, but it’s aimed toward providing your body with the vitamins and nutrients it needs to thrive on a daily basis. We offer a number of different services, which you can view on this page!
What to Expect
While IV therapy typically takes between 30 and 45 minutes, you can save yourself time by scheduling an appointment in advance. Intravenous Solutions makes it incredibly easy to get started! You can give us a call, send us an email, or book a session directly through our website if you already know which service you would like.
After you’ve booked your appointment, all you have to do is show up! We recommend arriving to your appointment 15 minutes early to check in and fill out the necessary paperwork. Many of our patients have a fear of needles, and if this describes you, then please arrive 30 minutes early to your appointment. We’ll apply a topical anesthetic that minimizes any pain associated with the placement, and we’ll also do everything we can to ensure that you remain comfortable during the appointment.
As your appointment begins, you may feel a cold or tingling sensation as the contents of the infusion begin to enter your body. The vast majority of patients report that while it may feel strange initially, it’s not an uncomfortable or painful feeling. You may also begin to feel the effects of your chosen treatment. If you choose to add B complex and caffeine to your infusion, for instance, then you’ll probably begin to feel the effects within a few minutes. Similarly, many of the patients who come to us for our natural hangover cure report feeling significantly better at the end of the session. No matter why you came to our Nashville IV therapy clinic, you’ll leave adequately hydrated and ready to take on the day!
